When we track numbers here is what we are taught to track:
- How many leads I received
- How many calls I made
- How many contacts I got
- How many appointments I set
- How many contracts I wrote
- How many deals I closed
There are two questions that are 10x more important than the above though… And you should be answering these everyday.
- What did I do today to move revenue forward?
- How many times did I formally ask for the appointment?
Every weekend (no specific time) I journal the week before. Actually I just write down my thoughts and ideas. I would love to tell you I am 100% disciplined with this. I am not. Here is what I will tell you though. Like you, I can get crazy overwhelmed in business and in life. When i put my thoughts down on paper though, the majority of the overwhelm seems to go away.
I use notability for this. You could use anything though. Even old school paper. 🙂 The point is, when it is out of your head, you free up space to evaluate. When you are taking your notes, remind yourself of the two above questions. If you’re not happy with the answers, don’t dwell, write a plan this week to crush the goals.
Your results are only as good as the process that creates them. Crush the weekend and I’ll talk to you again tomorrow.
